How do I book an appointment?Mike opens his books for new projects several times throughout the year and those dates will be announced via all social media accounts. When his books are opened, clients can then fill out and submit an Appointment Request Form.The only way to book an appointment is through the Appointment Request form on the website. Appointments cannot be booked through social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) or by phone.Do I have to pay a deposit?A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit ranging from $100-$250 (depending on how much time is booked) is required at the time of booking. The deposit will go towards the overall cost of the tattoo. For tattoos that require multiple sessions, the deposit is deducted from the last session. After the Appointment Request Form is approved, a link will be provided for you to pay your deposit.What should I do to prepare for my tattoo appointment?Please show up to your appointment well hydrated, well fed, and clean. Do not drink any alcohol or caffeine on the day before/of your appointment. Wear comfortable clothing and wear clothing that allows the area where you’re getting tattooed to be easily accessible. Be sure to bring your drivers license for proof of age. If you are intoxicated, pregnant, under the age of 18, or sick, then you cannot get tattooed.What if I need to reschedule my appointment?A minimum of 72 hours (3 days) notice is required if you need to reschedule your appointment. If this notice is not given, you forfeit your deposit and you will need to put down another deposit to re-book your appointment.You can reschedule your appointment up to 3 times. The 1st rescheduling is complimentary. The 2nd and 3rd rescheduling will require a $30 fee.If you are more than 20 minutes late for your appointment without giving notice, you will forfeit your deposit.What forms of payment are accepted?Deposits can be paid online via the link provided at the time of your booking. Cash or card is accepted at the time of your appointment. There is a 3% convenience fee for all non-cash payments.Can you price a tattoo for me over the phone or online?No, Mike will not give an estimate on a tattoo without an in-person consultation. Discussing the size, placement, and overall design of the tattoo are all crucial to determining the cost, which is why this must be done in person.When do I get to see my tattoo design?Clients can see their design on the day of their appointment or, in some cases a few days before. Small changes can be made to the design on the day of the appointment, time permitting, at the request of the client. If the client wants to change something major in the design, then that will require the appointment to be rescheduled.Do you do cover-ups and/or finish other artists work?Smaller cover ups will be accepted on a case-by-case basis, but Mike will no longer be taking on any larger cover up projects. If you may be interested in having a tattoo covered, then please include a photo of your current tattoo as well as any ideas you may have for the cover up design in the Appointment Request Form. Mike will review your request and give you a response based on whether he can confidently produce a successful cover up or not.Mike does not re-work nor does he finish other artist’s work.Do you offer free touch-ups?Mike does offer a complimentary touch-up within the first six months of getting your tattoo to correct any imperfections that might happen during the healing process. Please take into consideration that touch-ups are free as long as the aftercare instructions were followed. Adding to the design, color changes, or refreshing colors due to sun exposure are all additional charges.Can I bring a friend along with me to get my tattoo?Due to the limited amount of space in the tattoo station, you may only bring one other guest with you to your appointment.Why didn’t I get an appointment?Tattoo requests are approved on a first come, first served basis in addition to Mike's opinion on whether he is the best artist for the project. Unfortunately, Mike only has a limited number of openings and a limited amount of time, so not every tattoo request will receive an appointment. If Mike is not able to do your tattoo, he is always happy to recommend you to another artist.How do I care for my new tattoo?AFTERCARERemove bandage after a minimum of 1 hour. Bandage may be left on overnight if it feels comfortable and secure. If the bandage is removed on the first night, the tattoo may stick to or stain bed sheets. Maintain clean bedding throughout the healing process (about 2 weeks).After removing bandage, wash the tattoo immediately with warm water and soap. We recommend plain liquid Dial soap. No soap with fragrance, moisture beads or scrubs. Only use CLEAN HANDS to wash your tattoo. NO washcloths, bath towels, bath sponges or loofahs on a fresh tattoo.PROCESS FOR WASHING A FRESH TATTOO:Carefully remove bandage and tapeMake a lather in your hand with soap and warm waterUse gentle circular motions to completely clean the tattooGently rinse the tattooA clean paper towel may be used to dab the tattoo dryOnce the tattoo is dry, apply AQUAPHOR healing ointment. Apply a very THIN layer and rub it in. Use the Aquaphor 2-3 times a day for the first week then switch to a regular FRAGRANCE-FREE lotion such as Lubriderm, or any other fragrance-free brand. Continue to gently wash your tattoo 2-3 times a day throughout the healing process.Wear loose clothing over the fresh tattoo. A bra strap, tight waistband, sweaty gym shoe or itchy sweater can potentially create healing problems. Consult your tattoo artist for advice on what clothing to wear/avoid.After a few days, the tattoo will begin to form flaky scabs the same color as the tattoo. DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH AT YOUR TATTOO. Keep it moisturized and the scabs will eventually flake off.
